CLONA DUKE was a worthy winner of the €10,000 Time Greyhound Nutrition Select Stakes at Kilcohan Park, Waterford.
Trained by Graham Holland for owner Kevin O’Brien, the trap five runner was soon in charge and never headed as the son of Malachi proved himself an exciting young talent by winning in 28.22sec.
The victory underlined the huge promise Clona Duke showed when posting a blistering 27.95sec at Limerick and, while beaten in the heats of the two-run Time Greyhound Nutrition Select Stakes, came good in the final in some style.
