Nottingham and Towcester set for Gone To The Dogs – Live! fixtures
NOTTINGHAM will host the third Gone To The Dogs – Live! broadcast on Monday, November 25, the night of the Premier Greyhound Racing Eclipse Final.
And the news from the Gone To The Dogs – Live! team this week is that Towcester’s Christmas Bonanza – the track’s own Night of Stars including the final of the £10,000 Bet365 Puppy Oaks – will also be broadcast on Saturday, December 21.
Both shows will be almost four hours long with every race covered and broadcast on the Gone To The Dogs – Live! YouTube channel via youtube.com/@gonetothedogs-live
Regular Gone To The Dogs podcast presenter Dani Jackson will again host the shows along with Jonathan Hobbs, Joe Conneely, Emily Wallis plus Gary Wiltshire in the betting ring and Darrell Williams commentating.
The broadcasts follow those successfully trialled at Yarmouth for the Click Competitions 78th East Anglian Greyhound Derby Grand Final and Romford for the Premier Greyhound Racing Champion Stakes.
Jackson said: “We had such a great response to the shows at Yarmouth and Romford that we had to do it again!
“Hopefully racegoers take advantage of free admission at both tracks on the nights we’re there, but if you can’t get to Nottingham and Towcester then make a date to join us on Gone To The Dogs – Live!
“I’ve been lucky enough to commentate at Nottingham for Sky Sports Racing and it’s a great track, a true test of a greyhound, and the entry for Monday’s heats show you what a brilliant competition the Premier Greyhound Racing Eclipse will be in 2024.
“Towcester is, of course, the home of the Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby and their Christmas Bonanza is shaping up to be a fantastic festive celebration.
“They are basing it on Shelbourne’s old Night of Stars meeting, now the Winter Festival. These will see big-money one-offs – not to mention the prestigious Bet365 Puppy Oaks Final – and a whole heap of fun for us I’m sure.”
Hobbs added: “We were tasked with staging one live outside broadcast per month to the end of the year and Nottingham and Towcester suited in terms of dates and overall quality of racing – and each will provide different tests for our new production team, led by Dermot Cumiskey.
“Learning from these broadcasts will be key as we look to next year and how Gone To The Dogs – Live! will progress and evolve but there are truly exciting plans ahead for UK greyhound racing in 2025 and Gone To The Dogs – Live! is very much part of that.
“We would like to thank both PGR and SIS for their cooperation in arranging these broadcasts at Nottingham and Towcester, in particular Garry Nash at Premier Greyhound Racing and Richard Brankley at SIS.”
